Esposito was born in Brooklyn, New York of Italian descent. Her favorite sandwich is Nutella and sliced bananas on Wonder Bread. She has one older sister. She is a former dancer on the MTV show Club MTV. She originally had the Mira Sorvino role in Summer of Sam, but had to take a different role due to scheduling conflicts. Even though she is of Italian descent, she has had numerous roles in movies playing a Hispanic character.
